Luca Rasca, a student of Franco Scala at the Imola International Piano Academy, where he still lives, is the winner of numerous national and international awards, including the London Piano Competition, Busoni Competition in Bolzano, Palma d’Oro in Finale Ligure, Schubert Competition in Dortmund, Scriabin Competition in Grosseto, Chopin Competition in Rome, Città di Treviso, Casagrande Competition in Terni and Viotti Competition in Vercelli.
He performs extensively as a soloist and chamber musician and has played more than 20 concertos for piano and orchestra with prestigious ensembles including the RAI Symphony Orchestra, the New York Virtuosi and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. With the latter, he made his debut at London’s Royal Festival Hall performing Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in the presence of King Charles of England.
He has made numerous recordings for Arts in London, Fluente Records, Piano Recital and Universal Music. He frequently serves as a jury member at national and international competitions and has been active in teaching for more than 30 years. He writes for Suonare News magazine and is Artistic Director of the Palma d’Oro International Competition in Finale Ligure (SV), YAPCO Under 18 and the Amateur Prize in Finalborgo.
He is a teacher and director of the Ateneum Piano School in Finalborgo (SV), Professor of Piano at the Gioachino Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro and a faculty member for the advanced courses at the Accademia del Ridotto in Stradella (PV). He has been a Steinway Artist since December 2015 and in 2022 signed an agreement with the Halidon Music record label.
