Francesca Salvemini

Born in Brindisi in 1975, she graduated from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan and earned the prestigious “Prix de Perfectionnement et Virtuosité” at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève, in the class of the great French flutist Maxence Larrieu. The first woman in Italy to graduate with a university degree in music, she earned a Second-Level Academic Diploma in Flute – solo performance track – at the “F. Venezze” Conservatory in Rovigo with a final mark of 110/110 with honors and special mention, as well as a specialization in twentieth-century vocal and instrumental chamber music.

Born into a musical family, from a very young age she was the overall winner of numerous national and international competitions. She embarked on an intense career as a soloist and chamber musician that has led her to perform in more than 500 concerts throughout Italy, Europe — including Austria, Germany, Norway, France, Spain and Turkey — the United States, including New York, Texas and Virginia, Mexico and Latin America, including Brazil and Argentina.

She has performed at prestigious venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, Sala Verdi at the Milan Conservatory, the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice in Venice and the Grande Salle du Conservatoire in Geneva. She has been a guest at Teatro San Benito Abad in Mexico City and the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul, collaborating with artists such as Maxence Larrieu and Silvana Libardo.

As a soloist, she has collaborated with prestigious orchestras including I Solisti Veneti, I Solisti Aquilani, the State Orchestra of Moscow and the Philharmonic Orchestras of Ploiești and Izmir, under conductors including Claudio Scimone, Kurt Sanderling and Michel Corboz. In chamber music she has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Francesco Manara, Claudia Antonelli and Pierluigi Camicia.

She has served as principal flute with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the ICO of Lecce and the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra. Her activities include recordings for labels such as Velut Luna and Bongiovanni, as well as the publication of educational works for Florestano Edizioni. She has given masterclasses at prestigious American universities and at the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kyiv. She currently holds the Chair of Flute at the “Nino Rota” Conservatory in Monopoli.


Antonino Maddonni

Guitarist, composer and arranger, his training follows the Segovian tradition through the school of Maestro Ermelinda Calsolaro at the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari. He furthered his studies with distinguished masters including A. Diaz, O. Ghiglia and R. Chiesa at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and at the Artis Master Classes, receiving scholarships and distinctions. He also developed an interest in twentieth-century compositional techniques through workshops held by composer A. Giacometti.

Winner of numerous first prizes in national and international competitions, in 1987 he founded the Trio Mauro Giuliani for flute, clarinet and guitar. With this ensemble he pursued most of his international concert career, with a repertoire ranging from classical music to multimedia experimentation and improvisation, resulting in several recordings and critical recognition.

In the multimedia field, he has gained experience in chamber music theatre and performances combining painting, visual imagery and poetry, taking part in international festivals including Time Zones, Festival di Babilonia and Festival del Mediterraneo. He has given concerts and tours for prestigious institutions around the world, performing in cities including Madrid, New Delhi, Bombay, Casablanca, Baghdad, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Cairo and Hamburg.

He has composed music for guitar, ensembles, chamber music and computer music. He has published revisions and original compositions with Bergmann Editions in Denmark, and his works have been broadcast by RAI 2, RAI 3, Vatican Radio and Radio Nacional de España. He has recorded CDs for labels including Fonit Cetra, Bongiovanni, Rugginenti, Warner-Fonit and Digressione Music.

Winner of the national teaching competition in 1990, he was Professor of Guitar at the “N. Rota” Conservatory in Monopoli until 2024, where he also taught transcription and arranging. He has given masterclasses in Italy and abroad through the Erasmus program, collaborating with universities in Turkey including Yasar University in Izmir and Akdeniz University in Antalya.
